Katie Burdon is a Cornwall-born Director and Photographer whose practice sits between art, photography and film. She began her career in photography, developing a visual language shaped by landscape, folklore, identity, transformation and the female experience. Increasingly drawn to storytelling and world-building, she began moving beyond the single image towards more immersive narratives.
She is represented by Probation as a director and photographer, with gallery representation through Tappan Collective in Los Angeles. Her work has been published by Creative Review, British Journal of Photography, Vogue Italia and It’s Nice That, and exhibited internationally in London, Milan and Los Angeles. She was nominated as a Saatchi Art Rising Star in 2021, shortlisted for a Young Directors Award at Cannes in 2024, won Gold at the Creative Circle Awards for Best Charity Campaign in 2024, and was selected for Portrait of Britain in 2026.
Her debut narrative short, ENEVAL, brings together her interests in female-led storytelling, folklore, landscape and contemporary culture. It marks the beginning of a wider body of work exploring place, mythology, identity and human connection. Her ambition is to build a filmmaking practice rooted in mythology, regional stories and reimagining ancient tales to explore contemporary experiences.
